what are they going to harm ?
they are likely replacing the Torque Converter

Lift the truck, drop the drive shaft, drop the exhaust, drop the transmission, pull the torque converter & then reinstall

What can go wrong?
Maybe drop the whole truck off of the lift ?

That would get you another Ram

The dealer is not obliged to give you a new vehicle unless you live in CA and invoke their version of the lemon law.

Honestly, they are not even obliged to give you a loaner but they have with me in the past when a new truck needs service so shortly after the sale.

I'm guessing your concern is when it time to sell your vehicle and this will show up on the Carfax, etc.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it since it is happening so early in the life of the vehicle.

I advise you to politely ask for a loaner and see how well and quickly the repair was performed before asking for anything else.

yeah, heard a lot of stuff like this....many owners want a new vehicle, many dealers want to fix it under warranty.....thats probalby what will happen. i had my head replaced on my jeep penstar.....did not hurt the value at all. i wouldn't worry, just get it fixed.

I'd also like to know what the actual problem with the transmission was that makes you think it would have caused damage to other components.

Had my tranny replaced on my F150 back in the day @ 20K miles under warranty. It didn't give me any crap after that for the rest of the life of the vehicle. Of course it only made it to 104K before the truck started to literally fall apart (not the tranny though!).

Good luck.
