Quick question....For guys that are lifted 6" and then have Bilsteins at 2.8 or 2.1, did any of you have to get new brake lines due to them not being long enough??

I notice that the BDS kit comes with a new set of lines but Zone and RCX dont. That should mean I am all set and dont need them but you know how that is. I take it BDS is just going above and beyond and that it is one of the many reasons they are more expensive. I had a 8" BDS kit on my 06 F150 that came with new stainless braided lines but I dont know and cant find anything on here if I will need them on my '14 1500.

I am thinking of just getting some custom ones from KLM anyways, but if I dont NEED to spend the extra $150 then I am okay with it.

Thanks in advance fellas.

The lift kits that do not come with extended brake hoses use a relocation bracket instead which requires you to bend the hard brake lines in order to work. If I could do my over again, I would opt to go with new extended brake hoses. I suggest you do the same as the hard brake lines are barely long enough to work with the relocation brackets.

Exactly what Boosted said. You don't technically need them, the relocation brackets will do the job. But each kit/truck is slightly different too. I'm running an 8" BDS kit on my 3500 and didn't buy the extended brake lines. The relocation brackets work fine.

Okay thank you guys very much. Good info to know.

While I was googling to see if longer lines existed, I came across a set from Pro Comp, part # exp7525. You can find it on Summit and 4wheelparts. Says it fits 06-13 1500's and they are for 4-6" of lift. You guys think that it would fit the 14's? What would have changed? They are 87 bucks compared to the custom ones from KLM that are 150. I'm just curious. I would rather get the part that is guaranteed to fit.

My guess is, if they fit the 13's, then they will fit the 14's. I'll swing by the dealership later today and take a peak.

Stopped by the dealership and compared a brand new 2014 with my 2013 and as far as I could tell, they are identical.
Awesome!!! As soon as Bully's gets back to me about my lift/tire inquiry, I might have to make a decision. I kinda like the 21mpg I am getting now though...hmmm.

Thanks again Boosted!
