Just signed for a new 2014 Power Wagon, going to the dealer on Saturday, everything was done over the phone, what about the extended warranty?
what you guys getting it for? what do they normally charge and how much will they knock off? The 6.4 MDS makes me a little nervous. I remember when Cadillac tried it many years ago.
Also the dealer I am buying it from is quite far away, any problems with the local dealer( who has no Power Wagons) doing the service and warranty work?
Wanted a power wagon since the old Minuteman missile site days, finally able to get one.
i know a lot of questions, but first Dodge, coming from the Ford world,
thanks guys

I just picked one up on Friday, I paid 1000.00 for a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty with a zero deductible. we argued back and forth at first them saying it cost us 1811.00 but finally came to 1000.00 if I bought the truck. and to get the zero deductible was 150.00 buck more total so I jumed on it

Warranty I'm of no help. As far as the MDS goes, I had it on my 2010 1500 and didn't care for it. That's just my own opinion. It didn't bother me too much before I put on an aftermarket exhaust. When it would switch between 4 and 8 cylinder mode, it sounded funny, but stock you should be ok, and even get a few more MPGs out of it.
It shouldn't matter what dealer you take your truck to for work, warranty or not. I bought mine from a dealer about an hour away, and I take it to the local dealer.
Well I used to. The big thing to remember is at every oil change the front drive shaft needs to be greased. If you are having the dealer do oil changes, make sure they do it. At least I assume the 2014s still need that done. There's even a sticker on the engine compartment. Anyway, enjoy the new truck

They say the front driveshaft should be greased and some dealers will even charge you for it, but the reality is Ram switched most if not all HD trucks to a sealed u-joint front driveshaft in mid 2010. Mine has the nice sticker under the hood, says to lube in the owners manual, but has a sealed u-joint front shaft. No zerk, no needle fitting, no nothing. And no, I am not going to disassemble a driveshaft u-joint to lube it.

I greased mine every 1500 kms , and the cv still failed at 50,000 kms,and there was about a 3% twist in the shaft already , they replaced the entire shaft on warranty , but I'm thinking I'm going to eventually get a stronger shaft built for it
