Ok...I purchased my 2011 Ram 2500 6.7 cummings in October. With less than 300 miles on the vehicle the engine started missing once in awhile- dealer could not find a problem. At about 800 miles I noticed a rattle when going over bumps which sounded like it was around the transmission area (it is a six speed manual)- dealer could not find a problem. I then noticed my puddle lamps were not working- dealer contacts RAM and they advise that the SLT had incorrect mirrors on it and they would not be able to fix the puddle lights. I picked the truck up and notice the radio is going on and off (Short?). Take truck to dealer again and two days later get it back- dealer found a loose connection on radio, states their mechanic did not cause it when working on mirrors....ok. I get truck today and all is good or so I thought. My wife tries to use the spare key to get something out of truck and the spare key does not work, after looking closer, it's the wrong key....I am not a happy camper.

Does anyone know if there is any way to get the puddle lamps to work on an SLT?

Second, does anyone have suggestions on the other issues (engine cutting out, rattle noise), have not noticed the engine cutting out in the past two weeks, but have not drove the truck much in that time either?

I am taking key back to dealer tomorrow to see about fixing that issue.

Thanks, Land vehicle Vehicle Tire Car Motor vehicle

Sorry, I don't have an answer but you might try a different dealer just to get a second opinion.

Can't understand why the heck the puddle lamps wouldn't work on an SLT trim level truck. I have a lower grade trim level, ST, and my puddle lamps work fine.

I'm sure with your Cummins equipped Ram you probably paid over 40k for that beast, equipped with puddle lamp option, and they don't work? And they can't find the reason why? Definitely time to visit another dealership. Maybe they can find the issue with the engine too.

Good luck, I hope the problems can get resolved for you because that is sure a nice looking rig you have.
