this went in much easier than i thought...in a nutshell,
pull carpet back
drill 5 holes (4 for mounting, 1 for shifter cable)
put carpet back, cut carpet for mounting holes
mount shifter, run cable thru hole an attach to shifter
put console and rubber boot on
disconnect shifter bracket on tranny
drill hole for mounting piece on shifter cable
yes, this is a ratchet shifter...it acts the same from Park, reverse, neutral and Drive...goes into ratchet mode when you drop to 1 or 2.
I went the floor shifter route because I manual shift at the track and more than once while running down the track I have accidentally shifted to neutral..this way I can bang it from 1-2 and 2-D and won't shift to neutral by accident...
why this particular model? I wanted a shifter with a lower profile so that I could still use bottom accessory port, ashtray, and cupholder..
