...for displacement.

It seems that the Europeans are discovering that small, turbocharged engines do not, under actual driving conditions, reduce emissions as indicated by their lab/dyno emissions tests which do not vary temperature or engine load.

Next thing you know there will be stories about EcoBoosts not getting their EPA estimated mileage:LOL:

Guy65, you have already probably seen this and I have seen a couple of your posts talking about this very thing. Not to put you on the spot but I am sure you have some good input on this.

Perhaps this will cause FCA to rethink the rumored end of the Hemi :4-dontknow:

Funny how I have been preaching this same thing from a different perspective the whole time......ironic now that the public at large is starting to realize their tech engines are not all that they are made out to be
You're 21, what do you know??

Once again, a dearth of Common Sense.
If you want "X" amount of work, it takes "Y" amount of diesel, gas or Steak & Beans to do it.
Resulting in "Z" amount of exhaust, be it NOx or steaming pile of excrement.

If you want less exhaust, find a better fuel to burn.

Side note, was watching on of those collector car auctions, on tv the other day. SUper cherry old trucks going for under $30K. Starting to think there may be a demand, other than collectors, if things keep going they they have the last decade or so. Cannot believe how much different just thr sheet metal on my 2014 is, compared to my 1999.

1999 ya could lean into it, no issues.
2014 you look at it with a sneer, it dings.

Years ago, had a Conductor brag that he had 42 years of Experience.
I promptly corrected him, explainng that he actually only had one year, 42 times.

Years & Experience are not always symmetrical.

This reminds me about how forced political regulation causes issues like this. I learned at University Michigan how when airbags came out the thought pushed by regulation was to make them deploy as fast as possible. This turned out to actually severely injure and kill passengers in real world results. At the time they did consider the impact of the airbag on the soft tissue since the crash dummies did not have this capability to record or measure.

Sorry- I'm late- just back from the smokies- was camping.

yeah- finally and article with common sense and writing the truth what is already known for years by the manufacturers- the problem is, and there is the major issue- the biggest diesel-law-pusher is the German government- and the state of Nordrhein- Westfalen is 50% owner of VW and all sub brands. Any more questions?
I think there is said enough and we can complain and say what ever we want- as long as greenhouse-doomstay-lobbyists are at the position to have the say so, we well be doomed one day. and when everybody is back on the horse some day, somebody might say- dern- we've been somewhat stupid.
The biggest problem are people with philosophy degree in the parliament. ain't having a clue about nothing and would not understand physics, if they would sit under a tree and an apple would fall on their head, but want to tell everybody how they have to handle physics.
we got to wait and see.

Better fuel= LNG. We have a seemingly endless supply of natural gas and emissions are much lower.

And the Hemi is easily adaptable to run on it, there was an LNG 2500 5.7 available from the factory not too long ago

The problem is the infrastructure- the same reason, why electric vehicles, like Tesla, can't get a bigger foot on the market.
In Europe EVERY gas station supplies LPG and almost every imported US-car or truck runs on LPG. Gas burns so clean, they would probably meet the 2050 emission-standard already.
And there is one reason, why there is not a infrastructure: If the oil industry and the government would be interested, it would be already there. Even in California, where they claim to be the "cleanest" state, you can't find gas stations, supplying LPG or any other natural gas as alternative.
We are controlled by lobbyists. That's just it. People lost the view for reality and run behind everybody who drops the bread crumps. Instead being mad about getting the left overs and demanding the full meal, we're even thankful for what we get.
If there would be a movement to demand natural gas supply country wide, there would be already steps to implement it. but well- you make more money with oil than with gas. that's just about it- if the oil starts getting short, THEN we will see the supply going up.
It's all about politics.
