I have a 2007 ram 5.7 hemi mds truck that I swapped out the engine for a 2004 5.7 hemi non-mds engine
NOW I have the wiring for the mds unpluggged NO MDS ENGINE PLUG
WILL It run okay?
Can I use a tune to take the mds out of pcm?
Will the open harness cause a problem?
Engine is in and ready to run.....
I cant have any codes for inspection also!
Thanks

Hello i an doing the same swap right now i have a 06 1500 ram and am putting in a 2004 5.7 and i have the same question. i am swapping everything from the 06 engine intake, valve covers, coils and sensors and i noted that the intake is a little different i am hoping it does not make a difference with the non mds lifters or should i be using the 04 intake and also the coils and wires are different please share any input you have and i will do the same as i figure it out thaks

While I do not know for sure, I would suspect it will throw codes as the PCM is not going to see signal from the solenoid for the MDS. Will it make any difference on how it runs? Not likely
