Hey guys, im new to this forum but I've got a quick question. Thanks in advance for any help.

Currently I've got a 92 d250 2wd with a 12v and nv4500 5 speed. I've got the opportunity to buy a 93 w250 4wd with a 5.9 gas and an nv4500 5 speed for parts.

My question is if I bought the 93 gas 4wd and took it apart would the tailshaft from the 4wd nv4500 gas truck bolt to my 2wd nv4500 diesel tranny?

If that would work are all the other 4wd parts interchangeable?

Thanks again for any help!

The tail shaft housing would bolt to the back of the transmission. Not sure what exactly your question/end result is wanting to be. Are you wanting to take your 2wd trans and make it a 4wd? If so are you wanting to use the gas transfer case? If so the gas output shaft would work but, the one meant for a diesel has a heavier output spline, and the transfer case likewise has a heavier input. Currently I'm transforming my diesel 2wd NV4500 to a 4wd one. I'll have around $450 in parts and tools. As long as I don't have to replace any internal parts.
