Oil Issues, New to the forum

Hey guys,
New to the forum and a new truck driver. I've had a 1994 Ram 1500 Magnum for about 6 months now, and I've noticed that the oil light keeps on coming on when I'm coming to a stop or when I am switching gears. What could be the issue here? Oil leak? Pressure issues?
I'm not a mechanic by any means but I am trying to learn so any insight is good by me and would help me greatly.
Also, I noticed on my engine there are 2 oil caps. One reading "ENGINE OIL" and the other says "ENGINE OIL FILL". What is the difference between the two?
Please understand that I'm a newbie to a lot of this, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can.
Anyone help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I'd get her to a trusted mechanic or dealer to check oil pressure. First, pull the dipstick with the motor off and on level ground check level. If it's low, add correct oil to the full mark. Is the oil is low from a leak, maybe you dodged a bullet and you have done no harm. Oil pressure is kinda like blood pressure, low you might be ok, none, you are done.
