Oil Issues, New to the forum

Hey guys,
New to the forum and a new truck driver. I've had a 1994 Ram 1500 Magnum for about 6 months now, and I've noticed that the oil light keeps on coming on when I'm coming to a stop or when I am switching gears. What could be the issue here? Oil leak? Pressure issues?
I'm not a mechanic by any means but I am trying to learn so any insight is good by me and would help me greatly.
Also, I noticed on my engine there are 2 oil caps. One reading "ENGINE OIL" and the other says "ENGINE OIL FILL". What is the difference between the two?
Please understand that I'm a newbie to a lot of this, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can.
Anyone help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The cap that says Enine Oil is where you check the oil level and the Engine Oil Fill is where you add the oil... Like hydrex suggested I would check your oil level on level ground after you engine has sit not running for at least 5 mins.... hopefully it is just low on oil... if it is not then I would take it to a trusted mechanic to have the oil pressure checked. Do you have any knowledge on whrn it was last serviced? Oil change , plugs, wires, cap and rotor? That can slso contribute to oil light as it would run low idle. I hope this helps and welcome to the Z! All of us are here to try and help you.
