Oil Issues, New to the forum

Hey guys,
New to the forum and a new truck driver. I've had a 1994 Ram 1500 Magnum for about 6 months now, and I've noticed that the oil light keeps on coming on when I'm coming to a stop or when I am switching gears. What could be the issue here? Oil leak? Pressure issues?
I'm not a mechanic by any means but I am trying to learn so any insight is good by me and would help me greatly.
Also, I noticed on my engine there are 2 oil caps. One reading "ENGINE OIL" and the other says "ENGINE OIL FILL". What is the difference between the two?
Please understand that I'm a newbie to a lot of this, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can.
Anyone help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Ian. I had this issue with my 95. Started around 180k, was still there at 289k. I replaced main and rod bearings, measured, ok gap. Replaced oil pump, same issue. Ended-up just running 50wt in it. My best guess for mine was that a cam bearing, or other tolerance had opened-up. Lots of them do this. But I have never heard of the cause. The 3.9 is just a V8 magnum with the front two cylinders shaved-off. I'm pretty sure a few of the regulars around here know the cause and may chime-in when they see this.
