Got into a car accident back in February. Got hit by a Ford F250 Diesel. Biiiig truck. Anywho, it was totaled. I walked away with nothing but a sore shoulder. Our trucks perform beautifully in accidents. I can now say that I know from experience... On the plus side, I got a new Ram 1500 that was even nicer than my "old" one!

That gives me a little peace of mind... good to hear you walked away almost pain free - physically, at least. I am curious though, what caused the star on the P/S windshield?

You didn't happen to snag the O/H console when you were snappin' pics, did ya? I'd be happy to take it off your hands ; )

Looks like your got extremely lucky he didn't smack you in your driver door else it may have been worse for you. How did the bed get hit and then skip up to the front end and wipe it out?

Wow, great to hear your in one piece. Don't care how it happened, just as long no one got seriously hurt. Glad to know my truck can take it if it had to, thanks for the heads up.

WOW! Is there anything on your truck that isn't bent!?!

Glad to hear that you came out of this so good, and it is a comfort to know that the safety engineering is doing it's job.

To answer your Questions:

1.) The star crack on the windshield (I think) was caused by the airbag deploying.
2.) Unfortunately, I was not allowed to remove anything from the truck, including the O/H console. Sorry!
3.) I was hit perpendicularly in the front, then spun around and whacked the other truck.

If my door was hit, I would have definitely been pretty bad.

I'll have to post pics of the new ride soon though!

Agree, nothing like beats safety first. When we took our vaca down to Florida we drove my Ram from Ohio on a round trip. The wifey kept bitchin' every time we had to fill up the 32 gallon tank with 89 octane. The bitchin' stopped when a horrible accident happened in front of us where a little bitty four door skate board got hit by a truck and you could no longer tell it was a four door...and there were kids in the back seat. The wifey said that we would never ever own anything other than trucks and SUVs. I know, we are lucky that we can afford it.

I totally agree. I was hit by an F150 doing 40 and the truck not only kept me safe, but I was able to drive it home 1200 miles towing a trailer to get it fixed locally. It was a bummer to mess up the new truck, but I am thrilled that it kept me safe.

I don't there's enough wax on this planet to buff out that mess! The other truck, to add insult to injury, was able to at least "drive" onto the tow truck. My truck on the other hand, as you can see from the pictures, was missing the front wheel, so they had to jack it up and tow it "two on the ground". Thanks for all the well wishes. My shoulder still hurts a little bit now and then. If you guys din't know this already, our trucks have "pyrotechnic" charges in our seatbelts. in the event of a major collision, they will fire and suck you back into your seat so freakin' fast. That's what hurt my shoulder. But I'd rather have a sore shoulder than a major injury.

Glad to know you're ok. Before I was member of the RAM family I had a pretty nasty accident going 70 (guy merged into, overcorrected and basically t-boned me at highway speed) in my Camry and myself and 3 passengars walked out. I think when you spend good money on a vehicle, they are well worth it.
Once again, glad to know your ok.
