Needs some guidance please. I had the Oil pressure sensor swapper out a few weeks ago on my 2011 Ram 1500/Big Horn with Hemi and engine light was out for about 2 days and then came back on. Went back to garage and they scanned and got the same code P0520.

They ordered a replacement part and installed it. Same thing. 2 days later the engine light came back on and still on as we speak.

They told me that there is nothing else they can do because they are not able to flash the ECU and I need to go to the dealership to have that done.

Is this accurate? Do I need to go to a dealership and ask them to flash the ECU?

Can someone help guide me as to what I need to do, say or try?

Thanks

I had oil change and Oil Pressure switch changed at the same time. Engine light was on for about a week before I had oil change and then they put new switch in at the same time. Light went off, then right back on.

Anyone else have any insight on this?

when the dealer changed my oil, they didn't change the filter because it was aftermarket K&N. Hopefully reflash works, best luck.

I had the same problem. Check engine light came on, took it to advance auto, they said it was the oil pressure sensor, got it replaced and the check engine light has been off for a couple weeks now. Then I get in my truck last night and BAM....its back on. I remember the guy that replaced it said that he sees this problem as a common thing in our rams and he doesn't understand why they don't make a recall on this particular problem. I remember him telling me something about a part needing to be changed how that's in correlation to the sensor but my warranty wouldn't approve it. Apparently the issue can keep happening if that part isn't fixed. Guess ill be calling him today to see if I can bring my truck back and see about getting that part on because I don't want to have to keep dealing with switching sensors out every several weeks.

I'm having the same issue with my 2011 and about ready to go buy a replacement sensor. Hopefullythe light goes out and stays out. I read somewhere that the truck needs to be driven several times for the light to go off? or speed up and slow down several times which shouldmimic starting & restarting several times....

Exactly thank you ,hope this can help some others. I put a Tee off of the filter housing then the sensor on one side and ran AN hoses into the cab and mounted a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Now I have a real old time gauge in my truck and am certain of my oil pressure. The readings on the dash are not true just another algorithm. Put a real gauge in ,remove doubt
