So I got a used bed extender from Craigslist yesterday. Its not in bad shape but was definitely used, had lots of scratches and chips.
Took it apart today and sanded and painted.. Came out good..

Hello,

Great job on the extender. Quick question for you. Did the bed extender install ok on top of the Bed Rug? I mean the part where you screw in the pivot joint to the side wall.

My Bed Rug is on order and will arrive soon. Also plan to get the extender.

You did a fine job. Really looks good. You can’t beat Craigslist…

I have been looking for a bed extender at Yard Sales, Estate Sales & Thrift Shops but I haven’t seen one yet. Hope to find one in that good a shape… A little bit of paint will go a long way.

Hope to get lucky. You keep up the good work.

Jason I installed the mounting brackets to the truck bed. The bed rug covers them so I just cut a small slit in the bed rug and push the extender mounting points through the slit and then into the mounting bracket. It takes a little messing around with to get them mounted but not hard. If I get a chance I'll take some pics. I did it this way because I will be taking out the bed rug when I start hauling fire wood.. I don't want to be cleaning the rug after hauling wood.. for me it would be easier just to take it out for a few weeks while I cut wood.

Seaham,

Thanks for the explanation. I just installed my Bed Rug yesterday. I think I did a decent job of installing it. Fits well enough and looks great. I would definitely appreciate some pics if you can. Although I understand what you are saying some pics would still be helpful.

Thanks in advance!
