I have a 5.9 i bought with R/T heads, mopar performance ZUES intake manifold. It has a spun bearing so i tore the motor apart for the machine shop and found there was no plenum pan. My truck currently has a 5.2L that pings on loads and acceleration which is typical due do to the plenum pan gasket blown out. I am familiar with that repair. My question is, do the 5.9's have a plenum pan and gasket like the 5.2's? And if so, is it even necessary to install or can you do without.

Maybe your Zues Intake is a one piece intake. I know if its the original intake it requires the gasket and plenum plate. 5.2 and 5.9 are the same for plenum plates

Thanks for your help. That makes sense because the bottom of the manifold is flat all the way across and its like a high rise. You can fit your arm through it from both directions.
