I'm trying to decide if I want to upgrade the headlights on my '02. I have been looking at the different options and I have a lot of questions about projector headlights. I haven't been able to find any "projectors for newbies" info anywhere.

1.) Do they plug into the stock headlight wiring or do they require custom wiring? I am looking at something like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/02-05-DODGE...ge|Model:Ram+1500&vxp=mtr&hash=item1e6aff30cf

2.) Do they require special bulbs or can I use my factory bulbs?
3.) Are they brighter than stock headlights given the same bulb?
4.) The lights I'm looking at on eBay, above, are halo. Do the halos do anything besides look neat? Do they require special wiring?

Hopefully someone can answer some of these for me. :smiley_thumbs_up:

If you get a set from a reputable company then they will be plug and play, but there is no guarantee with eBay. The projectors will use either a H13, H3, or H1 bulb; and they are NOT as bright as the OEM bulbs, but they do throw more light to the sides. I found that out when I swapped to a set of AnzoUSA on my '07. However, if you get a good set, you can upgrade to HIDs and not worry about blinding everyone since the projectors are designed to focus the light properly.

Halos only look neat, but if you live somewhere that requires daylight running lights, it allows you to use those. Most require separate wiring, but I just tap a relay off of an ignition controlled circuit and you're laughing.

heh I was just looking for lights myself for my 2002
I ordered a set of spyder headlights from car id for my 02. Projecters with black housing . Very happy with them ,plug and play . Be wary of ebay headlights . Alot of bad reviews. A decent set of halos is $200 plus . If it seems to good to be true it usually is . Buddy of mine bought a set of ebay and nothing but trouble . Make sure it is a reputable company .

Ok that answers most of my questions. I will wait until I can spend more time and money on a quality set of headlights. I was looking for something cheap and easy that might slightly increase the light output for right now. I don't have the money to drop 400 or so right now so I will wait.
