So I think something is wrong with the muffler. When cruising around 20-50 it makes this weird humming sound as if it's vibrating against something. But when I downshift it goes away. It's not the mds because it happens when it's on or off. I checked under it the under day briefly and everything seemed attached so I think it might be something within the muffler now but I have no clue about this at all and it's just a guess. If anyone has a clue, please let me know.

But my questions are, will it be hard to take the stock muffler off? If not, can I just leave the rest of the exhaust on there without anything going wrong for a few weeks? I don't see why it wouldn't and don't want to take off the tips or anything because I think it would look goofy with the cut outs in the bumper and no tips.

Yeah, it could definitely be a baffle or such loose in the muffler. Is there a reason you won't consider an aftermarket muffler?...or maybe that's what you're suggesting? I think many of us have just done the muffler replacement deal with a Magnaflow, Borla, or Flowmaster, and just keep the rear dual tailpipes. It's easy and cost effective to do this, and the results are great. I think that unless you go the whole route of headers, y-pipe, and bigger rear tailpipes, just doing the muffler swap to a better flowing muffler is a pretty good mod.
