So I just bought my 2008 Ram 1500 SLT and I have some questions. First, am I able to switch "on or off" auto or 4WD while driving on the fly? Second, is there a traction control that can be turned off with the Key trick? Any info is appreiciated thanks bros...

From what I have read no we can't change "on the fly" and I have no answer for your second question.

There's the link to the owners manual online. Should be able to switch from 2wd to 4wd auto or lock at highway speeds.

You can switch from 2 HI to 4 HI at speeds up to 55 mph.

Shifting to 4 LO requires you to be at less than 3 MPH, rolling slowly, shift trans into Neutral, engage 4 LO directly. Do NOT put transfer case in Neutral.

There is no stock option or function to turn off traction control.
