I went through 3 Escort Redlines in less than 2 years...Work great but very unreliable from my experience...Don't get me wrong they work great, WHEN they work lol...Purchased a Beltronics STI Magnum...Very similar to the Redline (I know escort and bel are one of the same) but I figure hey, may have better luck...I have always had the straight smart cord...Only see a few inches near the plug and detector

I've used Valentine 1 detectors since they came out. I put mine into my RAM sport over the weekend. I always use the remote display. It's mounted here on the IP.

Power comes from the fuse box with a fuse tap. I tapped into the rear 12 v circuit. I should have drilled a small hole in the box rather than notch it as I did.

Went thru the firewall here.

V1 power block

Wire goes up the A pillar

Unit is mounted to the windshield to the right of the mirror.

Hope this helps someone! Kyle

What you're looking for is called the Invisicord. Two prongs that attach to the powered rear view mirror and a phone type plug on the other end. Google it. Easy to find. Works great!!
