Hello to the forum, Newbie here:
I received notice of Uconnect update on screen and via email. Followed directions, setting time for update to start and per directions turned truck off, waited 2 hours, stated update time 10 minutes, restarted truck and radio locked and update notice keeps reappearing.

2015 RAM 1500 Outdoorsman 5.7L 35990 miles
Note: I am totally electronics challenged.

HI Redwagon, thanks for the response. It took me 2 hr to stumble onto how to reply to you. Did I say I was a total electronic misfit. LOL.

Re: your response it looks like I will have to wait 2-3 days and see what happens.

My screen will not respond to pressing any bottom icon except for settings for mirror and seats. No reponse for radio, navigation etc.

Did you experience the same problems. Thanks again !

Yes I did , I also had key in ignition message on the dash when the key was in my hand as well as the radio not wanting to shut off when the truck was off. I had made an appointment at the dealer and the day before I was to take it in the radio came back and everything has calmed down . Gotta love the electronic bs .

Yes/ I agree about the electronic. You would think they would have all this stuff worked out so the customer would be happy instead of frustrated. I'd be even more upset if I had bought a new truck.

Will wait 2 more days for the miracle cure you had then if needed try something else. We can't be the only one's that had this problem. Thanks again fir reply

Be safe, be well.

I waited 4 days and no change - can/t use any option on Uconnect except Bluetooth or whatever picks up my phone call. No NAV, no radio etc. Someone, somewhere (?), suggested pulling the fuse for the radio. May try that but first I am going to go on web to Uconnect ( RAM customer service, LOL) and see if they have or suggest a solution. Again if they installed it , they SHOULD know how to fix it. I will update this thread accordingly.

Anyone have a solution?

In the late evening try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, reconnect battery post then reset update time to like 3am then let it sit overnight. In the morning start the truck. Your message should reset to no device. Waite a minute or two and it should reset again to your radio station and everything should work again. Good luck

I have the same problem. I called U-Connect and they told me I had to take it to a dealer to have the thing fixed (at no charge). My truck has been there for 2 days now. Dealer wants to charge me for the repair. I've re-contacted U-Connect and supposedly they have resolved the charging issue with the deal. Still waiting for a call from the dealer.

To all: Wow !
17 days later and tried again, this time Uconnect ran the update and cleared the radio locked problem. Was going to disconnect fuse but hadn't gotten to it. Puzzles the ### out of me but this system is going to drive me crazy.

Since I am so bad with computers etc. , I guess sometimes it better to be lucky than good. :)

Newbie here. I my Uconnect updated 2 weeks ago on Thursday and on the following Sunday on my way home from church my radio tuned off and on a couple of times and then turned off and stayed off. I called Uconnect the next day, they told me to take it to the dealership and that Uconnect would foot the bill and gave me a case# to have the dealership reference in order to get paid by them. Took my truck in in Wednesday, they attempted to unlock/turn on the radio but they were unsuccessful. They told me that they had already ordered a new radio and that it would be in the following week. Last Tuesday they got my new radio installed and everything is working normal again (FOR FREE!)???. Later that evening, I got a message on the radio stating that Uconnect wanted to update my radio... I'm hesitant on accepting the update and having them jacking up another radio?.
