I have a 2013 ram 1500 5.7 it just recently starting having a rough idle on start up when engaged in reverse the shaking/rough-stutter gets worse. The truck will feel like it is running out of gas when slowing down and stopping at a red light. When accelerating at times it shutters but then other times it won’t seem to have an issue. Sometimes I can drive the truck for about 10 miles stop and restart the truck and it seems to run fine. I took the truck to a local dealer they told me my solenoids were bad and I had them replace them. I picked the truck up and all seemed fine on the way home with no issues. The next day I get in and drive 100 yards and the truck starts having the same exact issues. I take the truck back to the dealer and am told that it sounds like to them the truck needs a cam shaft replaced. I recently replaced the lifters and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the camshaft so I pick the truck back up from the dealer. My local mechanic gets in from vacation and he plugs my truck up to read the check engine light. The check engine light comes on with the P1411 code. I also discover I’m 3 1/2 qts low on oil after replacing my oil no more than 2k miles ago and the truck doesn’t have an oil leak. Is it possible they replaced my solenoids with faulty ones. Why do they say they think it’s a camshaft issue if the shuttering isn’t at all times because I can drive it for 10 or so miles and restart the truck and it stops shuttering. Wouldn’t it shutter at all times if it was the camshaft? Any help would be appreciated.

Also if I turn the a/c on with this issues there is a belt whining noise on acceleration not sure if this is due to the shutter/shake or what is going on but no noise without a/c on and just the fan on.

Shuttering on acceleration....coil packs, spark plugs, or wires. The A/C part sounds like it could actually be unrelated, unless that's a side effect. Although there many possible causes, I'd start with my first thought.

Would any of these effect the truck while at idle and backing in reverse? It seems to shake while at idle and have a jerking sensation when going in reverse almost like the truck is running out of fuel and about to stall.

Has your truck recently started smoking out the exhaust alot?! 3 quarts of oil if no leak from a gasket, dipstick, pan bolt, etc has got to be producing some smoke if it's sliding thru piston rings defects and getting burnt up.
Regardless, JRod has good point need to really start crossing out what it isn't and checking all things that can relate to your issue. I would likely stop driving the truck to prevent any engine damage especially sense you have new lifters and such already
