I was checking out the ram 700 on ram Mexican website. I noticed that if you configure a 2021 Ram 4500 or "Ram 4000" with a 6 speed manual trans. It cool but they only offer the Hemi in mexico so you cant configure it with a cummins. But still a cool possibility that you can manual swap a 5th gen.

I don't think the manual tranny is able to handle the torque from the diesel, but yes, the trend is going automatic (if not auto pilot, lol), even semis comes with automatic these days (automated manual). my last manual car was a 2005 nissan altima, loved it.
Check the tow ratings manual vs. automatic and you will see a loss with the manual.

Of course you "could" put a manual in one, the cab and frame and driveline didn't change, but you would also need new tuning to make it work.
Automatic is so much more capable than any manual trans that came in a RAM HD.
