That's your opinion. It also depends on what your using your truck bed for. I've had a drop in liner in my last 4 trucks.there was no scratched up paint or rust under the liner in any of them. You may not realize it but your spray in can dent and the drop in is more forgiving. As far as them being standard equipment, I don't agree with that because I didn't buy a couple trucks because it had the spray in liner. I wasn't going to pay for something that wasn't going to work for me. That's great it works for you. Now your starting to sound like them guys with the 3.92 ,that tell us with our 3.21 that the 3.92 is the only way to get aMy truck didn't come with a spray in liner from the factory, so I had the dealer line-x it as part of the deal when I bought it. I have seen some Rams with the factory spray in liner and must say its hard to tell a difference. I would say they are pretty much equal.
But you definitely want a spray in liner, I can't imagine having a truck without one. I think they should be standard equipment on trucks nowadays, maybe they will be soon. They are superior in every way to drop ins.
This is great info, Tom.The vendor in Warren Mich. is Ground Effects Ltd.
the spray in bedliner is mostly done by robots
GFXLTD is run by Line-X with a group of investors
I certainly can't argue against your experience, but we will have to agree to disagree on this one. I have never known a spray in to dent, and I have seen drop ins that were cut through-never a spray in though. I also like the fact that spray ins are anti skid, and have always considered them more forgiving based on the abuse I've handed to both types. But you're right, drop ins are better for you, so that's what you should go with. I suppose if spray ins were objectively better, drop ins wouldn't still be available over a decade after spray ins were introduced. That's your opinion. I think he meant a drop can provide a cushion against denting to the metal below since they are ribbed, a spray on will not provide protection from dents. That said I'd rather have the spray on, looks better and does not move around or rub the paint off.
