Hey Dudes, so i'm upgrading my entire speaker setup in my 2014 sport crew. I wanted to know if I can leave the fold out rear floor under the rear seat AND install one of the prefab subwoofer boxes (like the ones on ebay)? I only need (1) 10" sub and already have the 5 channel JL Audio amp on the way. I may go with the (2) sub setup. But, i'd really like to keep that fold out floor.

Maybe I could make a custom free air setup that's ported with a 10" that uses the storage compartment and still be able to use the fold out floor?

Thoughts? Thanks guys! I don't need a shiteload of bass anymore and my new Rockford T-series components in the front/rears will add to it nicely....

All the boxes I've seen for under our back seats take up the depth between the cubbies and the bottom of the seats. Idk about the factory sub enclosure. But in order to use the prefab boxes (Obcon, eBay specials, etc.) you have to remove the load flat floors for them to fit.

Here's a pic of the box I just had built..... fiberglass bottom and recessed subs. They're JL Audio 12TW3-D4's. 2 JL XD600/1 Amps push them. I haven't heard them yet (Truck is at home...I'm in Texas:smiledown:) but tomorrow I'll be home and the guys at the shop said I won't be disappointed!

Man that looks nice! Let me know how it sounds. I got my JL Audio XD700/5 yesterday should be good for what I'm doing with one sub. I'm going to have to play with this sub thing and see what works. I was thinking of getting a (1) sub prefab and trimming it down to fit under the foldout floor. I know it will affect the cubic inch room of the woofer but i guess it depends on the woofer i get. Again, not trying to go boom crazy.

I see you have a black truck with 24's. I do as well on my sport. I'm awaiting the 2/4 drop kit for the 2014's to come out. All the companies told me yesterday that they are prepping rides for SEMA now but when they get back they will be back to R&D and testing setups.

Take care! thanks for the input on the subs...

Sounds great! Obviously I'm not getting the full affect of the subs and amps because of the factory 8.4a but for what it is it sounds great. The deck REALLY limits it! It's tuned to be crystal clear and sound good. The bass knob REALLY helps and obviously the cleaner the recording of the music the better!

Just a side note....the owner of the shop where I had it done is a little jealous! He has 4 10" JL TW3's but is running the 5 channel amp to them. They're WAY under powered! He'll be making some changes in the near future!
