Hey I’ve had a problem for awhile now

I have a 2014 Ram 2500

last month or so my dash cluster went off saying “rear turn signal is out” or something for the sorta and keeps displaying it every time I start the truck and a few of my co workers have notice it’s out also

my brother in-law and I tried working the problem changed out the bulb for the turn signal-that didn’t work

we tried changing out the whole tail light assembly of the left to the right side ( the right side connections and everything are working)
And the right to the left. Still the same result not working and giving me that working on the dash cluster

from what we presumed it may be a ground fault somewhere in the the truck that is making this problem

but I wanted to know and why I’m posting is:

1. Has anybody run into this problem in 2014 2500?

2. If so, how did you go about to fixing it? How much did it cost?

forgive me on my spelling and poor use of instrument terms for the vehicle

I ran into it in my 2014 1500, but all I had to do is swap out the bulb. you might want to measure the voltage of the connector to make sure if the wires are sending current to the tail light assembly at all? and trace down from there.

pull out your multi meter and start testing grounds and voltage at the plug. make sure your getting good signal.

The big problem we run into in the Montana area is the farmers and ranchers like to install headache racks with lights on them. Nothing against headache racks but they put too many lights on the circuit and it burns out the BCM then they get mad when we tell them warranty wont cover it because they modified the truck.

My 2014 Laramie 1500 has the hyper flash at the dash and I have the LED taillights. There are about 15 (I'd have to go count to be sure) LED's in the taillight and 2 of them are out which causes the hyper flash at the dash, but in reality the outside blinkers are working correctly with the regular flash rate. Just an annoying hyper flash at the dash. I guess I could replace the 2 LED's but have never tried.

I had this happen to my 2500 and it ended up being the wire harness was rubbing on the spare tire under the truck causing a short. I spliced in some new wire, put some heat shrink on it and new cheap plastic conduit and it’s been good for a couple years now.

Try reseating plug in BCM module.
