Hi all,
This is my first time posting, but I have been viewing the forum for awhile now and it has helped me through several repairs. Thanks for that!
I found myself in a bind today. I am trying to replace the rear pads and rotors on my 2011 Ram 1500 Sport. It has around 40k on it and the rear rotors were starting to warp and the pads are getting low. Anyways, tire was remove, caliper removed, caliper housing removed, but I can't get the rotor off. Using lots of PB and hammering, I have only gotten it to move maybe a half inch from the dust shield. The way it moves, I'm thinking the e-brake is holding it in place? The e-brake is disengaged (I've even tried engaging/disengaging in hopes of freeing the rotor).
Does anyone have any thoughts? I think maybe adjusting/loosening the e-brake might help, but I'm having trouble finding instructions on doing so. I saw a post on another forum about there being a flat head screw behind a rubber gromet behind the dust shield to adjust the brake. I foudn that but there isnt a screw there, only what looks to be a thin metal bracket. I I see the bolt on the ebrake cable, but I'm afraid of busting it; its rusted pretty bad.
I can post pictures if needed. I'm home visiting my parents until Monday and I hope to get it done before then (my dad has a garage with tools). Otherwise I'll be forced to take it to a garage. Thanks!
