I've been looking around for the speakers that I plan on installing in my Ram.

It's an '08 QC with the factory basic 4 speaker radio plus Sat.

I know the front speakers are 6X9. I've run into a contradiction on the rear speakers.... one place says that they're 5.25, another says that they're 6.5. Which place is correct? I'd hate to order the wrong ones.....

Thanks

I just replaced mine with Diamond Audio 5 1/4" speakers. I believe it is a 6" speaker stock (it's an odd size). The speakers I used were not quite big enough to line up with the factory holes. Didn't want to drill new holes, so I cut a piece of MDF board to screw into the factory holes, then secured the speakers to the MDF panel.

Crutchfield tells me that they're 6.5, OnlineCarStereo tells me that they're 5.25. As for my measuring my stock speakers, I was trying to avoid that, as I don't want to pull everything apart more than once....

Sounds like I'll go with 5.25, and do what chithead did, and make an adapter of sorts....

thanks everyone

Its not bad at all to pull the panel, TORX bolt for the handle, Philips screw behind the handle, and lift up on the panel. Be sure to disconnect the power window switch and remember to reconnect it before installing the panel back.

A buddy of mine just had new speakers installed in his 07 Ram. He got 6 1/2" put in the rear doors. They just had to drill new holes to mount the speakers but they fit.

I bought 6 1/2 boss audio speakers and they are slightly too big. Anyone ran into this and have any recommendations on the best fix? Thought about using my Dremel to but I’m hesitant.
