Greetings to the 2014 Forum group. Last Saturday I bought my first Ram. It's a '14 Laramie Limited Crew Cab 4x4 with 6'4" bed. I had a '15 Laramie on order for over 2 months, but finally got so frustrated with the dealer I'd ordered it from that I canceled my order and found a (IMO) better truck (a Limited) on another local dealer's lot that was close enough to what I'd ordered, and was loaded with more features than what I'd ordered. With the Costco Auto Program pricing and available factory rebates I was able to get the '14 for effectively the same price as the less-equipped '15 I had ordered.

I'm very pleased with the truck so far, and am on the road to starting some modifications. First step was to remove the factory sidesteps. The dealer I bought it from said he has customers looking to buy them for a decent price, which will hopefully largely offset the cost of the new sidesteps I want.

What I plan to do near-term:
Replace the dash speakers with Kicker KSC354s (ordered)
Replace the factory running boards with Iron Cross Stealth in black (ordered)
Install Bak Roll-X tonneau cover (ordered from AutoAnything with forum discount)
Tint front windows to match rear tint
Paint the chrome wheel skins black (probably)
Apply 3M Paint protectant film to front bumper and hood (an experiment)

Already learned a great deal on this forum, and hopefully can give back some knowledge/experience along the way as well. Cheers everybody!

Welcome. White is a very good Laramie color.
Forget the years between the 13-14-15 and get the right truck. The problem with ordering is your truck may come in after waiting 2 months and it may have a defect after inspecting it. Now what?? You already waited 2 months. I would much rather find my ideal truck on the lot and give it a long inspection and test drive.

LOL! Great point, and also (because of reading on this forum) I already have an appt with the dealer's service dept to get the rear bumper aligned correctly - it's inset about 1/2" on the driver's side, and also to get any software updates and TSBs addressed. Knowledge is power.

You sound handy and the bumper should be easy to adjust on your own. The software updates scare me unless I need them. What was your build date??

I would get the paint protection film. I got mine done. Hood(12"), complete bumper(upper and lower), grille, A pillars/top of roof(12') and the door sills.
