I am only guessing from experience with other trucks, mostly Chevy
Usually there is a electrical pigtail, that the wiring harness for the bed plugs into, up close to the firewall, around the steering column
Then 6 or 8 bolts holding the bed to the frame
Then 4 people could lift it off or move it enough to access the gas tank
Or if the tank is close to empty, you could try dropping it out from under
Look at LMC truck online for the part(s)

you may have to call around & find the part & make a 50 mile trip to a wrecking yard
