I am finding a lot of conflicting reports on the ability to replace just the front (outer) pinion bearing and seal on the 9.25 rear diff. I understand it is best to replace both the pinion bearings and to replace the races as well. But for the short term and for the sake of what I can do in the garage, I would like to remove the yoke and replace the front pinion bearing. I'm just getting a whine and the fluid looks good. I'm hoping it is just the front bearing. It is on a 2016 1500 with the 3.0L diesel. Soooo- can anyone confirm that I can pull the seal and get the bearing off the pinion shaft without tearing the whole thing apart? Thanks!
