I have a 1998 dodge ram 1500 4x4 just got it a week ago, I had to rerplace the crank shaft position sensor. Now it starts right away but it now has a bad ticking noise and the power surges when I excellerate ? Now what ?

Let me get some clarification. The camshaft position sensor in the distributor and not the crank shaft position sensor on the back of the engine. Is that correct?
