Hey all,

My 2014 Ram 1500 had a really rough start this morning. I have no check engine light. Battery, oil, etc. are all good. I drove it to work (about 10-15 miles) and then turned it off to see if it would do it again. Sure enough, I had an even rougher start.

I read about a few tricks like turning it to the "on" position for a bit prior to starting, but it's still rough. It wasn't too cold last night (about 42 degrees).

Any thoughts?

battery or a bad ground
always start with the cheaper fixes

Ended up being the battery! I was a tad confused because I have never seen a truck react that way when the battery is dead. Glad it was nothing major.

I just had the same thing happen to me. Rough start one morning and by the next day truck wouldn't start at all. Wound up being the battery. Got 4.5 years out of the original so figured I was pretty lucky.
