so on my 06 truck when I drive down the road and the a/c is on,and I let of the gas the truck quickly drops 5oo rpms or so and then goes right back to normal then if I get back on the gas it wont do it again until I let off of it. doesn't do it at stop/idle just when decelerating from highway speeds ect. just started doing this a few days ago but ive used the a/c for a couple months now. idk if this is a compressor not kicking out or what it could be. any help would be great!

Not sure why it's dropping to 500 rpm, perhaps your idle control valve is starting to go out. But when it does drop, the computer is seeing the low rpm rate and gives it a shot of gas to try and get the rpm's back up.

I had the same problem with my 05 a few years ago. Before I could check it out it got cooler outside and I stopped using the A/C and I forgot about it. Then it started doing it with the A/C off. I talked to a guy who works at the Dodge dealer and he told me to run some high quality fuel system cleaner with a fuel tank of gas and it should stop. Before I reached half tank the surging stopped. He said to do this once a year until I reached 75000 miles, then start doing it twice a year. Long story short I haven't had the problem since. Also in addition I changed the place where I get gas, just to be thorough.
