Yesterday when I started up my truck everything was normal. I went to academy and came out and when I started it back up big warning lights came on saying " service electronic braking system" and "service trailer brake system" Has anyone else had these lights pop up on their dash? My truck only has 2300 miles on it. Today the lights go on and off about every other time I drive it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

hi - yes i've had these messages, along with the 'service air suspension'. i have 1200 miles on my truck. i have nothing helpful to add as i've not been able to get back to dealer and the messages clear when truck is restarted. i honestly don't have any idea if its a problem or not. all i can say is you're not the only one!

Yes I had the same "service electronic braking system" warning on Saturday and yesterday. Only 4800 miles on Ecodiesel. I have a 2.5 leveling kit in the front I'm hoping its not that because i did a hard left turn last week and heard a noise from the front end. Now the steering wheel is about 15 degrees out of line.

I got these same exact messages after I installed and aftermarket amp and subwoofer via a Line Out Converter. I had disconnected the battery ran my wires hooked everything up, reconnected the battery. On the first start after reconnecting the battery I got " service electronic braking system" and "service trailer brake system" warnings, and also my front and rear park sense would not stay on. I disconnected the battery and let it sit for about 10 minutes, reconnected it and made sure everything was tight and they went away and everything is working normally since then. Only 900 miles on mine when it happened, I have about 1500 now.

Same issue, stock truck.

So I have a 2014, 1500. Got this light (service electronic trailer brake system) and message a couple weeks ago. Steering wheel is a little crooked from a big bump.... Not sure if the light happened before or after the misalignment. Deal has the truck as of yesterday they want to align it. Hard to believe this will fix it.....
Anyone have any good info?

You guys getting these message need to check your fuses... the box under the hood. My truck was doing this 2 years ago (2014 CC). ALL, yes ALL of my fuses were not completely seated. ALL of them were exactly the same height, but were not pressed down in all the way.

Once I did seated them all, I never saw it again (except when I actually had a trailer connected and a wire broke in the trailer plug).

I had this problem in my 2015 Ram 1500 It was a defective Brake Controller. Apparently there was a batch of them made with problems, Chrysler is aware of the problem, had mine replaced and been good ever since

Same problem: '13 Ram 1500

"Service Trailer Brake System"
"Service Antilock Brake System"

Mine happened as soon as I put the truck in 4wd when is snowed this pass weekend. It stayed on while in 4wd (about 4 days) Its been on/off ever since. 50/50.

I got the same message last winter when it snowed as well. But this time the code decided to stick around. What I got from reading the forums:

-It could be the trailer brake harness. Corrosion or dirty connectors.
(I read somewhere that the trailer wires are connected to the abs. So you cant have one light without the other.)

-Some say its a speed sensor on one of the wheels.
(Im not too sure how to test for that or which wheel to test)

-I have also read it is very common on trucks with level kits and over sized tires. (35x12.5x20 in my case)
But given that its a common problem on lifted rams, I have yet to see a fix.

Any insight from anyone on how to start troubleshooting?

4wd is disabled when the lights come on, unless you got lucky like me and get it in 4x4 before the lights turn on.. then as long as you dont take it out of 4x4, it will stay in 4wd.

Had this occur to me this morning. Hit a rough bridge transition and indicator came on and bell rang along with turning off my cruse control. Cruse would not come back on. Got to work turned the truck off and back on no light. we shall see what happens this afternoon on the way home.

Well no problem on the way home or to work this morning. must just have hit it just right.

both messages on mine just came on after towing my travel trailer home last week. 75K now on mine and never had this issue before even with towing heavier loads. still covered under warranty if the sensors or break controller is faulty?

So, I had the service ABS message pop up a few weeks ago. It would come on and the cruise control would not work and I was not able to get the truck into 4 low, but it would also go out for anywhere for an hour to a day. Turns out it was a wheel speed sensor in the front. The sensor was only 50 dollars, but labor burned me for 200. I had it fixed at the dealer, due to the fact it was already there to repair the 5 recalls my truck had. I hope this helps! Also the sensor is not covered under the powertrain warranty.

Had my truck scanned today and got this code: C003002 left front tone wheel-general signal failure. Never heard of this before but sounds like the ring and abs sensor right?

I have had the 'service trailer brake system' warning light come on several times when I was trailering. The trailer brake system was actually working and the light soon went out. I also get warning lights about the front and rear sensors, both of which were working at the time the warning came on.

Have you brought it back to the stealership? Covered under warranty?

I took mine to the dealer and explained what happened and they said it's an unknown problem.

Light stayed off for a couple months. Then I towed something, light turned on immediately and had been on since. Very frustrating. I dont have the time to keep going back to the dealer. Hoping it turns itself off

So does anyone know what’s the deal here? I’m thinking a bad sensor or bad connection to a sensor? Anyone had any success trying to pinpoint? Is there any way to test a sensor? Mine is doing this almost constantly now, driving me nuts. Also the abs will kick in for just a fraction of a second under normal braking.
