I have been getting the "Service Front Park Assist" message for the past couple of days. I hear the chime and look down and I see the message. I have also noticed the lights below the off/on buttons are coming on and going off by themselves. I checked the sensors and they are clean. I am going to take it to the dealer tomorrow and see whats going on. I also made an appointment to do the recall on the cruise control, but thats not until the 23rd. I don't know if I can go without the Park Assist for that long, I love that feature. Any ideas what would cause the problem with them?

I'll be curious to hear what the culprit is. I've had mine act up, but that was only when they were coated in ice or dirt/mud.

The appointment has been moved to the 19th. I will let you all know what happens.
Sounds good, thanks. I'm guessing it's something with the wiring harness, maybe a fuse? :4-dontknow:

Your guess is as good as mine TruBlu, all I know is I miss it alot! Now I have to get out and see how close I am to objects, the things we take for granted!

You could always do what I do and back into parking spots. This works for probably 95% of my parking situations. My Rebel only has rear park assist, but I use the camera more than rely on the park assist.

Thats what I did today, backed into the garage, so the rear ones are still working. I don't know, I was just getting use to "trusting" the front ones! LOL

Just went and picked up my Ram. According to the service invoice they replaced the Park Assist Sensor #1, Inner Short. Under the parts category there is a Sensor and also Paint, works like a charm now. They also did the Cruise Control Recall. Also, Thanks to ramcares for the offer of assistance!

Same thing happened to me about 2,000 miles or so into a brand new Ram. The "paint" is because they have to paint the sensor to match your body color, as they all come black I believe.

Interesting also that we have basically the same exact truck...2017 Big Horn crew cab, bright silver metallic.

It hasn't given me any more issues. Service Dept. guy told me that every now and then those sensors just go bad. I was afraid it would happen again, but so far, so good.

I started getting intermittent Service Park Assist after a couple weeks of ice and snow winter weather. I know ice can cause this, but still get the messages after all the snow has melted with temperatures in the 40's. Guess I'll make an appointment with the dealer.

Just wanted to update this. The dealer found a bad park sensor and replaced it under warranty. Seems to be OK now.
