Hello!
My name is Adam and I have 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT with 62,000 on it. I recently had new tires put on by good year and an alignment done about a month ago. When I picked up my truck from alignment shop it said service shifter on the message board. I drove my truck to my appointment and it never turned off, but after my appointment when I started back up it was gone. Fast forward to it being intermittent for over a month now. It seems like weather makes it more sensitive to it. We had a very windy dry spell and that whole time it never did it. The next time it rained it was back again. Now that it has got real chilly out and there is moisture everywhere it seems it will not go away. It has been on during every trip for the past two weeks. It beeps at me when I start it to service shifter and service transmission shut off engine to engage park. Nothing is wrong other than this message coming up nonstop. It comes up every time I come to a stop and when I go forward it beeps again. It’s driving me crazy and I called 5 shops and they all said they are booked and that it will be hard to determine quickly with out any check engine codes coming up. I have to assume this is a common thing and I am at least thankful I can still drive my truck, but I’d really like to figure out the best method for me to fix this. I see all kinds of horror stories of people not being able to get it fixed very easy. Fingers crossed you have some insight?
