I am looking to get my chrome side steps powder coated but it has become quite the process to figure out. I have come to believe stock is made of aluminum not steel and to get them de-chromed and powder coated is about 300$. Is it worth disassembling them (remove rubber and plastic) to geth this process done? Or cheaper to buy new ones. If so, what what be a good website that sells them and ships cheap to BC?

Thanks.

I plasti dipped mine. $20 and some time. Pretty easy to pull them off the truck. I didn't remove any plastic parts. Hung them by the bolts from tree branches in the back yard. LOL

Well if you arent in a big hurry, I guess you can list your chrome ones for sale and see if you get any bites. Then if you are able to sell them for enough you can use that money to buy the black ones. Going that route you would probably be out less money.
