Sport hood vent scoop part#?

The sport hood is all one piece, they cannot be slapped on to the normal hood. I think it was crazy to charge $800 for non-functional scoops, but that's just me.

Are you saying that you have the sport hood and need to replace one of the plastic grille inserts?

Personally that's a stupid idea the way he did it,nothing but a water trap forcing rain into the engine,and if you look close he still re-uses the underhood insulation/silencer pad.
Looks like he cut slits for the scoops,but you know what happens to that pad when it gets soaked,yea it ain't nice when it sags down on top of the engine.
I'd take that video with a big grain of salt

Oh, I looked myself with no luck. Have you checked any junk yards or ebay?
Cool idea yes! Did I say it was flawless, no eh. Personally I think the hood scoops are retarded on a truck, because it's a truck eh. Sounds like you have first hand experience at being stupid as knowledgeable as you seem to be.

Whoa what happened to my thread lol. It's a cool idea to make them functional but that's not the right way of doing it. You would need some sort of ducting to direct the airflow to an intake but make it so water can't get in. Some of these new vehicles have huge scoops, I don't know how they make it so water doesn't get in there. Ya I guess I will have to see if the dealer can get me a part#. I usually check ebay first but couldn't find anything.
Even opened up and ducted to an airbox they would only be a another cold air intake path.
The scoops are to low to provide a ram air effect.
There's roughly a 2" dead air boundary on the hood where there is basically what you could call stagnate air.
The scoops would have to be at least 2" above the hoods surface to provide any ram air effect.
If they faced backwards they would be more effective as then they'd pick up air from the high pressure area at the base of the windshield

Sounds like old school cowl induction. But them there perty sport hood might not look as perty like that.

I just installed the LED light kit like the one on the posting just above. I have posted some pics in a different thread. The company that I bought them from will either take your existing plastic inserts OR install the lights in ones that they provide. Since they are offering their kits with the inserts, I bet they would know the part number that the OP could order. Their company is JS Auto Design and Detailing. Do a Google search for them and give them a call. Good Luck!

I have these on order too.......can't wait so stoked :smileup:
JS is makin some pretty good coin on these. His work is good but there's not much involved with this. I would say parts would cost just over $100 easily and that's including the scoops. In Canada These scoops are $202 for the set lol.. Yes just for replacement scoops $200! I found the part number 68071011AA left and 68071012AA right. I can get the set across the border for around $90 cdn.This blows my mind how much we get shafted here!!
