Are you saying that you have the sport hood and need to replace one of the plastic grille inserts? They are plastic inserts
Oh, I looked myself with no luck. Have you checked any junk yards or ebay?Yes I would like to purchase an extra set.
Cool idea yes! Did I say it was flawless, no eh.
Just where did you say it was without flaws.
I re-read your post, and all i see is somebody promoting a dumb-ass idea by calling it "cool idea".
To the OP,try your local dealer for the part numbers, the dealers price on the plastic inserts might not be that bad.
Sounds like old school cowl induction. But them there perty sport hood might not look as perty like that.Even opened up and ducted to an airbox they would only be a another cold air intake path.
The scoops are to low to provide a ram air effect.
There's roughly a 2" dead air boundary on the hood where there is basically what you could call stagnate air.
The scoops would have to be at least 2" above the hoods surface to provide any ram air effect.
If they faced backwards they would be more effective as then they'd pick up air from the high pressure area at the base of the windshield
I have these on order too.......can't wait so stoked :smileup:I have a new Longhorn. I wanted the sport hood so I could do this:
