My drivers seat bottom leather is really loose, (wavy) The dealer says this is normal because they are ventilated. The passenger on is not like this. I have attached pictures. Has anyone else seen this. The truck is only 8 weeks old and 2,000 km

My truck is a year old now and 24,000 kms and yep my seats look just like that.

The drivers side is definitely worse, I assume because there is always someone in that seat as opposed to the passenger side not always being occupied. I'd say my rear seats are doing it a bit too but not as bad so the argument about it being because they are ventilated is out the window.

I haven't brought it up to my dealer yet but I may in time.

I'd be interested to hear if you get anywhere with it.

Yeah that is pretty common. I don't think the longhorn leather does it as much though. You might be able to get the leather to sit evenly again by putting a damp cloth on the seat.. Just get the seat a little damp. Once its damp get a hair dryer apply a bit of heat. It may tighten up the leather.

If you ever get indents in your leather, you can do a similar method. Get a hot damp cloth, but it over the indent. Get a ball, and roll it over the indent, while keeping the cloth between the leather and the ball.

Do you keep a wallet in your back pocket or anything? Having the wallet might cause it to stretch unevenly.
Yes I do keep a wallet. My wife has put on more than half the 2,000 km though. I will try the damp cloth and a bit of heat from blow dryer. Chrysler has given the pictures to the warranty department, to see if it is a manufacturing defect.

I have a 2011, and I had the same issues. My dealer replaced the driver and passenger covers twice when my truck was still under warranty. The newest ones look a little better. Good thing I'm a thin guy... How bad would the seat look if I weighed 300 lbs!?

My truck is 1 year old and neither of my seats look like that, I have a wallet in my back pocket also. Mine may not be like that because I use the Mopar Leather conditioner once every 2 months.
But mine looked like that 4 weeks old and a 1000 km.
The OM says not to use conditioner on the seats, just damp cloth or mopar leather cleaner. Can`t see how conditioner would prevent this, They are not cracked or dried out.

Conditioner will make them worse, it softens the leather, cause`s them to stretch. Its hit & miss with these leather seat covers. Leather WILL have variations in thickness AND texture... then take into consideration, they`re thin and have NO support due to them being air cooled. It is what it is.

From my observations, its not as simple as just the fabric stretching. Another "crunchy" thin plastic material underneath the perforated "leather" is also bunching up from your ass movement.
Yeah what is that material, I have never seen a leather seat do that. I had a 2001 Lincoln LS with vent seats. The seats still looked new after 210,000 km. I assume the Limited has the same seat platform, just covered in a better leather, so what Chrysler is saying is the reason because they are ventilated seats is BS. I am 160 lbs, wtf would they look like if I were 300 lbs

My leather seats look just like this when I get out. I try and remember to straighten them out a little, but shouldn't have too! My wife's '11 Grand Cherokee Summit does not do this and they are ventilated also (albeit a better leather).

I haven't had that problem with my Sport leather seats. I do use leather conditioner regularly on them. Truck is 7 months old.

You`re one of the fortunate ones that likely has a slightly heavier leather insert, so the conditioner you`re using might not be as strong as some can be, and hasnt effected it much...yet. What brand of conditioner are you applying, and how often, and how much are you applying when you use it... is it a synthetic conditioner (?)
