I have a 2000 Ram 3500 with a Cummins and a 6 speed, it has quit starting with the key switch, if I jump the solenoid terminal to the battery the starter runs and starts the engine. What should I look for to correct this issue?

when you cycle the ignition switch (key) are you getting power to the starter solenoid? If answer is yes, then you have a bad solenoid, if the answer is no, then you have either a bad ignition switch, broken ignition switch actuator rod, or bad connections/broken wires.
