Stay 5.9 or go diesel

I have a 1999 1500 with the 5.9. im getting about 13.5mpg. I am thinking about going diesel. I found a 99 with a diesel and wondering if I should go that route or stay where im at? If I do go diesel, is their anything I should look at in particular? It has 214k miles with an automatic. I drive about 100 miles round trip a day. Thanks For the help. Chris

Stay with the gas, diesel is more expensive at the pump and repaires are also more expensive. If you where updating to a newer diesel that has crazy hp and torque I would say its a win but 99"s where not powerhouses like the HO engines of today
