I landed a steering gearbox on craigslist for $20
I am hoping it is better than my original gearbox, as this one does not leak.
On my old steering gearbox input shaft A has play in it which gives me a 10-2 play in the steering wheel...which it also has some in and out play that causes a rattle on rough pavements as well, so as the input shaft A has play the output shaft remains stationary.

On the new steering gearbox the input shaft A has no play whatsoever, but the output shaft B has a slight microscopic fraction of an inch play in it, you cant really see any movement but you can feel it....
But as you turn the input shaft A the output shaft B moves accordingly, just you can feel a slight bump each way if you push/pull on the pitman arm in the output shaft B....

So, I figured this will be a temp fix untill I save up enough to buy a top of the line steering gearbox ( I am also thinking if I snug up the little screw on top it may take that microscopic play out of the output shaft B )

Does anyone have any input on this, I wont know how much better or anything till i change it out, and I wont know how much play is in the old box until I remove it, but I think this will be 100% better than the one I have now for the time being. This newer box doesnt leak and all the seals are dry where my old box is leaking out the output shaft seal already. Here are a few pixs of the newer box I just got.
I will need to change out the pitman arms as this one has the balljoint and mine doesnt.

Did a 1/2 turn adjustment on the adjuster screw and everything is solid as a rock, got the pitman arm off the new box but couldnt get the one on my truck off the old box.... so looks like I will have the shop change it out for $60. that is removing the old box and installing the new with fluid.... woot !
