Ok guys I just ordered a set of fuel hostage 20x9 -12 offset. I plan on running a 295/60/20 in the future but for now I'm thinking since my stock wheels are paid for I may as we'll run them first. Will my stock tires look funny on the 20/9 with -12 offset? How far past the fender will they stick out if any?

Stock offset is +25... So with a -12 offset, that is going to move your tires 37mm out.
But, I don't remember what the stock width of the rims are, so if that isn't 9" then the side profile of your tire is going to change as well.

I went from +25 to -6. Here are two pics:

(Sorry it's on two different sides)

Before:

After:

Now I went from a 7" wide rim to a 9" wide rim, so at least in appearance, some of the bulge of the side went away going to the 9" rim. It could just look that way? :)

Stock 20x9's are a +19 offset. Not +25 offset like the 17x7's.

The tires will probably look a little on the small side because of the increased poke. But you can definitely get away with it. They'll be sticking out 31mm (1.25") out further than your stock wheels/tires. So they should be out about 1" past your fender.

Ok the truck has 20x9 from the factory I just wasn't sure how it would look. If the tires are going to look silly poking out that far I will just go ahead bite the bullet and purchase new tires.

Brandon, I've seen the pis of your 1500 with the hostages and toyo's. I'm going to run the hostage with -12 and a set or nitto trail grapplers 295/60/20 "eventually". My question is what will my poke be compared to yours that u had. I'm guessing about 1/2" less?

If you can afford the new tires off the bat I'd go for it. That way it's set up the way you want. Then you can keep the stock wheels and tires together to either sell or keep as a spare set.

Yes the 295's will poke about 0.5" less than my 35x12.5's did.

Right on. So what kinda mpg loss did you see? I'm going to be running the 3.92 gears. Significant power loss with the bigger tires?

Yes... stockers are +19. No way would I install those crappy tires on new wheels. Do yourself a favor and get the tires that you want. The OEMs are better suited for maybe a tire swing or something...

I lost about 1.5-2 mpg on my 1500 going to 35's. The power loss isn't near as bad as people make it out to be. You'll notice it at first but after a while you get used to it.
