I have been trying to find a good place to install a switch for strobes after searching for something that would fit into the right console (where the passenger air bag switch would normally go) with no avail since I have the REC Navigation radio which takes up the extra pocket below the standard radio. I decided to install the switch in the top console. Although it's not stock it looks and works great. See attached photos, hope this helps those of you looking for good switch placement.

The install of the switch was pretty easy just drill a hole in the blank and then use a file to perfect the hole to the size of the switch, you have to use cutters and trim a little bit of the plastic fins which are behind the top console. It actually was not bad running the wires. I would say almost easier then tearing the dash out to feed wires to the main console.

Console Layout

I wanted to mount switches in the storage compartment on the right, I thought I had found the solution (see switch plate in photo) but then after doing some measuring found it would not work even though it was for a 2008 dodge, so I ended up mounting it up top.
