I'd stick with the DeeZee since it is a bolt on and this requires drilling holes. If the tailgate lifting is a problem then this might be better solution. Sounds like that this would be a replacement for DeeZee with added bonus to help raise the tailgate.

I like that Top Up spring setup. I might look into that. Looks easy enough to install and can't see much to go wrong.

I have the Dee Zee and love it. I looked into the hoppy but the info I found said it wasn't compatible with our 4th generation Rams because there is already a tailgate assist built in.

Hoppy & DeeZee

Well I have both installed. works great, the only thing is that when it goes down it comes backup a coupl of inches, I think as it is used this will not be the case, even so not a big deal.

I've had my Dee Zee installed for almost two years and absolutely love it.

That one out of Europe looks interesting, though. I'll have to show my husband and see if he and his infinite wisdom can't fab up something similar!

just installed this. install was too easy.

it works well but, it doesnt go down as slow as ive seen other tailgates go down.

youtube vids show the tailgate going down smoothely..with no banging at the end.

mine still does a bit of banging when it goes to full extension/ open.

does not go down as slow as i wanted or seenthem go down.

do any other rams experience this?

is the ram tailgate heavier or too heavy for the strut to work as ive seen?

what if i install another one on the other side of the tailgate?
