Thats the exact same truck I got. Same color, model and options. Now I paid $32,000 back in February of 2011. Mine also has mopar side steps and moon roof. I think now that its 2012 and the truck is basiclly a left over they can come down on the price more then 10k.

I agree with bonehead. If that is a leftover 2011, they will come down more. Best thing you can do to a dealer is to say your not sure it's a good enough deal and then literally walk out. They will typically call within 24 hours with a better deal. They want your used truck because that is what everyone is buying. Nobody is buying new so used truck values have gone through the roof.

On a separate note, I thought the Sport came with the double hood scoop vents. Or is that an upgrade?

Ya, I agree, they should come down more. I got 10k off my crew cab sport back in April of '11. They need to move it. Flipside is, the 11's are getting hard to find. Don't know if I would have drove 800 miles for it tho! Mine was just 2 miles down the road.

I thought I could get more than 10k too but every dealership I've talked to this is best price I've found. They say it's because the incentives have all been taken off of the 2011 now. My grandpa has also been looking for one and can't get anymore than 9k off a bighorn.

I'm sure I'll get a little more off the price once I get there. I guess I'll just have to take a 8 hour drive and see how bad they wanna sell

They are probably correct about the incentives. Bigger push to move the 2012 models now.

When I bought my Laramie in April of last year, I found the best deal at a dealer in Illinois. I told my local dealer about it and said I would rather drive up there to get it compared to their deal. They called the dealer in IL and made a deal for me then had it shipped on a flatbed truck to my location.

Long story short, don't be afraid to do a nationwide search. I used http://www.cars.com/ and http://www.autotrader.com/ to help me find deals across the country and then went from there.

There is also an outfit in Houston called Texas Direct Auto that is one of the largest used car dealers in the country. Check them out at http://www.texasdirectauto.com/. Their inventory changes quite a bit but it is very extensive and they have a great reputation for service. Expect to pay $500 less than their Buy It Now price.

Hope that helps. Good luck with your purchase!

No limited slip and it's got the 3.55 I believe. All I really know for sure is what's on sticker since I haven't actually seen the truck in person yet.
My current truck doesn't have limited slip and I've never thought I needed it. Should I reconsider? Maybe someone can explain to me why i might want it

I mentioned due to my having it on my 2003 1500 Hemi. When I purchased my 2011 I thought I would not miss having it but of course I did.

I have read posts where some were surprised when they found out their trucks did not have it.

If you are used to the truck not having it and are not driving in the situations that require the extra traction you should be fine.

Good luck with your decision.

I'm going to show my lack of geographical expertise here, but: if you're in Kansas City, Kansas is the weather anything like in KC, MO? If so I would feel that LSD is a must during the winter weather for better traction. Also, if you look to tow or launch a boat the LSD is very helpful on the ramp.

Seems like your getting a good trade in amount, though unsure how many miles your truck has. But hey if you are happy with the deal go for it. You might try to have them throw in a spray in or mopar side steps to finalize the deal.
