I just had my front windows tinted by a very well reviewed tint shop here in Raleigh.
I noticed 2 small pieces of lint trapped under the tint on the drivers side and called to have it redone.
They didn't give me any grief about it which was nice but now that it is redone I have noticed a few imperfections in it again.

If I examine the passenger side closely I notice flaws in it too, I guess driver side is just more obvious since it is so close when I am driving.

My question is this, are these imperfections normal?
Is it unrealistic for me to expect a perfect application?

What kind of Imperfections are on the window the second time? Personally If I'm paying for a service and I'm not happy, I have no problem getting it re-done again and again. that being said if its a small air bubble or raised spot in the tint, I'd give it a few days, most times those disappear, but if its debris, I'd be back in there for sure.

It's almost impossile to get a absolutely perfect tint job!
This is the truest statement in this thread!!
You going back again and again for little hiccups here and there is just going to piss the tint shop off. The more pissed they get the more they tend to "mess up".

Thats what I was thinking, the first one had 2 specs but since they were so close together the film couldn't lay flat, and when the windows were clean there was a pretty noticeable white spot on the outside.

The 2nd time it is not nearly as bad, just a small spot. I guess the best description I could give it is it looks like a 1/8" long hair.

I don't know if anyone else could spot it, I only notice it when my windows are spotless clean (which they are most of the time)

I just don't want to be unreasonable, but I did pay $100 per window for the Formula One Pinnacle Ceramic film.

My suggestion is that you get it fixed now and don't let it bother you. If the shop is professional then they'll fix it until you are happy. If they won't work with you then use your voice. Tell others about your experience and then never go back.

I use this when I deal with shops all the time. That said, I've found a great tinting shop that has done 5 of my families vehicles (since I recommended them to everyone) and none of us has had anything caught under the tint. The shop is great and has a lifetime warranty on their materials and work. If you're near Denver, CO then go to Maddox Window Tinting off of Parker and Quincey.

You pay for a perfect job, you deserve one.

Tint shops can get nearly perfect results, I had my windows tinted on my nitro and looks like it came stock.

Going back to the same place to get my fronts done on my sport too!

I would say you should always give the shop a chance to make it right. The shop should take time to explain what you are seeing and let you know what they are capable of. There should never be cut tint left under the film. An installer had to know it was there. That doesn't mean they are a bad shop. Mistakes do happen. I would go back and talk to them about it.

So I called the shop and told them about these spots on the drivers side window.

They said bring it and an we will take the film off and give you your money back!

Seems like a bit of an over reaction if you ask me, especially when the passenger side window and the sunroof are fine.

I told them thanks but no thanks and Ill be taking it to another shop to have the driver side window redone (again)

It seems to me a little unusual that a professional tint shop would do their work with the HUGE garage door wide open 10 feet away, maybe that has something to do with the results they are getting.

There is a great shop a little south of you in Sanford, Kar Kraft. They've done all my windows for the last 20 years and are fantastic with any accessories too. Ask for Paul and tell him Ed sent you.

Thanks man I'llcheck them out.

I have to find a shop that does Formula One tint since that is what I have on the other 2 windows.

There are only 2 shops in Raleigh.
