Have 2012 ram 1500.had oil changed at dealership. Truck started smoking and had no power. Started checking things. Checked oil. Oil level bout have dip stick. Called dealership. Have it towed in. We will look it. Did so. Service advisor says. Oh my guy does 30 a day. It could be a injector leaking into oil. I said u can not smell fuel in oil. Anyways. Blue smoke had stopped. But after it idles down puff white grayish smoke puffs for a few seconds. What should be looking for after driving 700 miles with bout 2 qrts to much oil. It's a st ram1500.no oil gauge never set a code. But has a rough idle now. Had tune up done before oil change. Thks

Blown seals, gaskets, worst case it airate causing bad bearings, blown up engine. Most likely everything is okay, however I would watch it carefully. Dealers suck when you can not rely on their service . Hope it’s problem free from this screw up. Good luck

Two qts over isnt ideal. It may cause a bit of aeration by crank slinging the oil in some driving conditions .But it most likely wont hurt a thing, but it needs drained out.Wont hurt the seals as there is no additional pressure generated by excess oil anyway. And pressure is not at the seals anyway.

Two quarts overfilled is actually a lot more problematic than most people realize. Drain it, drive for a few days and see what happens. Hopefully the cylinders and all didn't get screwed up.
