so i have a gen 3 5.7 i have already put a 40 s flowmaster 1in 2 dumped out passenger side in frount of rear tire ...i want to know if i put long tubes on what are you guys doing about the cats ? if i cut them out do i just weld in a spot for my O2 sen or what? i dont have a programmer and i dont want my truck running like crap or any codes coming up ! i know this has been talked about before but any help would be awesome

If you pull the cats, you will need to get a custom tune to delete the rear O2 sensors or you will throw codes, pull fuel, and kill your power. Your best bet is to get a set of highflow cats, they have reduced flow restriction while still maintaining a decent amount of exhaust scrubbing. At near-stock power levels you don't see much of a difference in hp/tq compared to removing them, but if you are or plan to be around the 600hp+ range, then you need to start looking at either high end cat kits or deleting them all together.
