I'm thinking about doing this to my sport as well. My dad pointed out the other day that I don't have tow hooks, and it got me thinking I would like to have them since it is still a 4x4 truck.

The tow hooks were not a priority when I bought my Ram. They came standard with the Outdoorsman and I thought that was great. But frankly, I do not see when its gonna be useful to me. Mind you, I've only had it for the summer and camping with a tent-trailer, not really off-roading in wild savages areas. Maybe someone can tell me what those hooks are really used for?

There really good for pulling people out of whatever there stuck in. A 4wd works great for pulling like that. Put it in low side and give it a jerk with the strap.I'm going to put them on mine it's all that I have left to do. I used them on my Z71 allot, for pulling out shrubs and small trees. Oh ya Doc the stock Z71 vs this ram off road, no contest the Z71 wins. Power wise and everything else goes to the ram.

I do not recommend using the front tow hooks to snatch out stuck vehicles. It isnt good on your ring gear. Use the back of the truck and hook up there.
I have been doing it that way for over 25 years no problem in the snow, with any of the trucks I've had. I.had a 03 Cummins and the only way it would pull was in reverse. It would get stuck pulling from the rear.
